I’m so very pleased for this family of four. This mama is thrilled, especially when you are told it could be a long road to build your family. This sweet boy came into the world a a bit before Christmas, and was warmly welcomed by two adoring parents, a dog and his adorable big sister.
I couldn’t wait to meet this darling! He is the baby of my dear friend, who no longer lives in Seattle. We each hopped a plane and met in Iceland for a handful of days. I was imagining epic backdrops for this session, but we quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen during our stay. It was beautifully frigid outside, and this baby stayed happily bundled in many layers during our outdoor excursions.
Our last couple of days, we rented a cute apartment with great natural light. We had a relaxing morning hanging out with this baby, and capturing the love he shares with his parents.
This Mama is amazing, and I thank her so very much for allowing me to use these images. We had a warm summer evening, and found a lovely spot on the beach to allow her son to feed without too much chaos in the background. This little man gave me some serious looks when we got him down to his diaper. By the time we were done, he was smiles again. Of course, he was happy to breastfeed with his Mama and get that warmth and snuggles. This Mom is in school, studying to be a Women’s health nurse practitioner. She also became a birth doula, and has attended multiple births. I was so happy to provide this family with these images, such an intimate and beautiful bond.
I knew right away I’d adore this family. I fell in love with their garden before I even knocked on the front door! They have lovely light within their home, one very sleepy 2 week old daughter, plus a sweet dog named Zoe. The new parents of this little girl were obviously smitten with their newest addition, and Zoe was happy to be included in photos. It was a pleasant afternoon of watching the Mama and Papa give baby snuggles and admiring this little one!
I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family for the past three years. I’ve gotten to see this now big brother go from just turning one year of age, to becoming a spectacular big brother who has recently turned four. This new baby is surrounded by so much love, she’ll never run of off cuddles. Her big brother adores her. I’ve never quite seen a big sibling light up the way he does around his new sister. It’s quite beautiful how twenty years goes by, and you reconnect with someone who was just a year below you during your beloved high school photo class. This Mama and I got to see one another this past summer during a celebration of retirement for our photo teacher (Janet Neuhauser, she’s amazing and please check out her work http://www.janetneuhauser.com/ ). It was noticeable that a belly bump was growing, and of course we started chatting about that, and she found out yes I do photograph newborns. My own infertility struggles came up, and she was so warm and welcoming to talk to about that. She was the first person in months that I felt like I could have an actual conversation with about motherhood, even if I wasn’t pregnant. It felt like a fresh breath of air, and I was so excited to photograph her upcoming daughter.
Welcome to the world sweet girl! This little one mostly fed and slept the whole time I was there. She soothes easily, and has her parents so in love. Her Papa was telling her all the things they’re going to do together, it melted my heart. The new Mama was realizing in those moments that she herself is now a Mom. It was truly an emotional and beautiful photo session.
Baby Parker is here, and he's lovely! Big furry brother loves him as well! It's such a joy to soak in the moments of the first week home. This boy loves to be snuggled, his eyes are light and I believe they will stay a blue, like his parents.

Her world is changing so fast, but she's already showing such love towards her little brother. A perfect morning for family cuddles and having an indoor newborn session!
I met this wonderful family on social media, and I'm so thankful for that. It's not very often that happens, but I'm so happy it did. It was a beautiful weekend morning, and the session took place only a few miles from my own home. After some feedings and cuddles, this baby girl settled in nicely. She was dressed for the occasion, and cute as ever!
